Verso la «creazione di una nuova vita». Civismo e politica in Mario Sturzo.

The recent publication of the volume Civismo e politica in Mario Sturzo ("Civism and Politics in Mario Sturzo") allowed the investigation into the social and political implications of the thought and of the pastoral work of the philosopher and bishop of Piazza Armerina, Mario Sturzo. Brother of the better-known and studied Luigi, the figure of Mario is at the center of a research project that began with the opening of his cause for beatification and canonization which will show, to the ecclesial and civil communities, not only his testimony of faith, but also the depth and relevance of his cultural proposal. In view of what emerges from the volume, the vision of Christians' commitment in the world given by the Sicilian bishop can lead us to reflect on the social dimension of Christianity, on the quest for meaning and on the dual citizenship of the faithful.
