Abstract

The article focuses on inequality across and within U.S. cities around the turn of the twenty-first century. Topics include if one is having a college degree or, more generally, is a more skilled worker, one is more likely to live in a larger city, wages in big cities generally higher but they are also offset by higher rental prices, and the skill premium is higher and increasing in larger cities or cities with more skilled workers..
