Abstract

With the recognition of the Maroon communities, the State began to implement policies aimed Agroecology its development. Considering that the territory can be an important tool for analysis of projects in this issue and those who cover their different perspectives, are more likely to materialize, the objective of this study was to evaluate the agroecological actions in maroon community Mandira, in Cananéia/SP. The study was conducted between 2011 and 2013 with qualitative techniques. The projects analyzed were: creation of the Extractive Reserve and resource management; and implementation of agroforestry. The creation of the Reserve provided greater sustainability and remuneration, but has shown signs of declining natural stocks, specialization in the activity and reduction of production for own consumption. The design of agroforestry systems provided greater product diversity and autonomy, social capital formation and healthy diet, indicating that the territorial perspective can contribute to more effective results and analysis of projects.
