Abstract

This communication presents a technique that allows an efficient selection of the number of macro basis functions for each block by assigning dynamic thresholds applied after the singular value decomposition of the currents induced by the plane wave spectrum. It makes use of a ray-tracing preprocessing of the scenario, where a number of critical points are identified. The threshold assigned for the selection of the high-level basis functions on each block is based on the distance of the center of the block to the nearest critical point.
