Abstract

The use of plastics has generated many waste deposit problems. Nowadays, plastic wastes represent a big volume of the total waste in the world landfills. To solve the disposal problem, methods have been employed such as recycling, biodegradation and biodegradable polymers. In despite of being methods that have their role to solve the problem of the large amount of plastic discarded in the world, recycling cannot cover all the huge amount of discarded plastic, and biodegradation requires intensive research to find conditions for the action of microorganisms. Therefore, a great method, which has been increased its research, because it is an important way for minimizing the effect of the large volume of plastic waste discarded in the world, is the biodegradable plastics. On this article, we show a possible solution to the environmental problem and the development of the engineering's environmental management discipline. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
