Abstract

Objective. To analyze whether, in the short-term, there is a bidirectional relationship between the single-parent structures and the quality of life of the residents in the localities of Bogotá. To this end, indicators for various instrumental freedoms and for multidimensional poverty were identified. Methodology. The methodology proposed by Ragin to demonstrate relationships, as a method to solve long-term information restrictions present in the city is laid on the table. Also, georeferenced maps that facilitate the identification of patterns in the territory are presented. Results and conclusions. Given the methodological conditions, it can be concluded that, in the shortterm, single-parent families do not have the necessary prominence to influence the development of the city and, although there is not enough evidence to detect a bidirectional relationship in the short term between the incomplete families and the quality of life in the localities, a unidirectional correspondence can be found.
