Abstract

This article presents a reply to a question regarding the cracking problems in the gray clay during summer and suggestive actions towards rebuilding the soil. It is suggested that adding top-soil organic matters to the grey clay should be applied and maintained annually. A three part corrective program recommended is: composting, mulching, and covering crops. The soil is recommended to be covered always to sort out or even lessen the formation of cracks. The mulch keeps soil and compost moist so the plants can make the most of it.
