Abstract
- The article focuses on the history of braids and origin of their demand. It mentions that braids were worn by African women for centuries before becoming deeply entrenched in Black American culture. It presents views of college professor Zinga A. Fraser on African women who have a rich history in terms of the ways they adorn their hair. It also mentions that the feelings of Afrocentrism in has sparked a braid revolution among Black women.
