Abstract
- In order to improve the overall efficiency of cascade hydropower stations and obtain optimum scheduling scheme, the optimal scheduling model of cascade hydropower stations was established based on Particle Swarm Algorithm Catfish Effect. For the limitation of falling into local acceleration easily of Catfish Effect on Particle Swarm Optimization (CE-PSO) when making catfish particles, it believed that the spatial distribution position of particles catfish had an important impact on improving the diversity of particles. Therefore, catfish particles were tried to uniformly distribution throughout the search space aiming to improve search efficiency and make up the limitation of CE-PSO to fall into the local acceleration. The improved algorithm was applied to the optimal scheduling of cascade hydropower stations in a certain river and the results show that the improved CE-PSO has a certain degree of improvement in the global search ability and convergence speed compared with standard PSO and CE-PSO. The results have a positive effect on improving the efficiency of cascade hydropower stations and obtaining optimum scheduling scheme of power plants. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
