Taking A Bite of the APPLE(W): Understanding the Defense Enterprise.

The article proposes a framework for assessing the enterprise environment, or the business side of warfighting, for identifying and assessing authorities, players, processes, leverage points, evaluation criteria and work-arounds of a proposed initiative in the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD). Topics discussed are influence of enterprise on the strategic, operational and tactical levels of warfare, the Army management framework, and the Army's fielding of the Stryker brigade combat team.
