Abstract
- Objective: To observe the clinical effects of Kangfuxin liquid combined with recombinant human epidermal growth factor (rhEGF) derivative for external use on the wound surface after treatment of oral mucocele in children. Methods: 196 child patients with oral mucocele were randomly divided into the control and treatment groups, with 98 patients in each group. First, the oral mucocele of all the patients were treated with a multi-purpose electric ion operating apparatus. In the control group, the wound surface after cleaning was treated with iodine glycerol, thrice a day. In the treatment group, the wound surface after cleaning were gargled or applied with wet dressing of Kangfuxin liquid thrice a day and rhEGF derivative for external use, liquid was sprayed on the wound surface, once a day. Wound healing time, pain time, pain severeness and effective rate of wound healing 7 days after treatment with the drugs were compared between the two groups. Results: The wound healing time and pain time in the treatment group were significantly shorter than those in the control group [wound healing time:(8.02±0.79) d vs (9.01±0.75) d, P < 0.05; pain time: (2.12±0.15) d vs (2.98±0.19) d, P < 0.01], and the pain scores in the treatment group were 10(8-18)[median (Q1-Q3)], which were significantly lower than those in the control group [21(14-27), P<0.01]. The effective rate of wound healing 7 days after treatment in the treatment group was significantly higher than that in the control group (96.9% vs 86.8%, P<0.05). The relaps number in the treatment group was more than that in the control group, but the difference was not significant (P>0. 05). Conclusion: Kangfuxin liquid combined with rhEGF derivative for external use can effectively promote healing of wounds shorten healing time and improve patient satisfaction with wound healing.
