Abstract

The article discusses a 2-year follow-up of a trial for the use of a treat-and-extend (TAE) regimen for managing diabetic macular edema (DME) in 2018. It states that results were similar with TAE ranibizumab, with treatment burden reduced, although without significant benefit with adjuvant treatment with focal laser. Also noted is the study's evidential support for TAE protocol in the administration of anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) injections in eyes with DME.
