Abstract
- The article discusses the Vatican City's agreement with the government of China on underground Catholic churches in China's incorporation into the Chinese Patriotic Catholic Association (PCA), which is part of the People's Republic of China (PRC) state bureaucracy. An overview of the Chinese' government's policy towards Catholic bishops in the country, including in regard to their appointment, is provided.
