Abstract

The main objective of this analysis is to expose a manner of developing the constructivist perspective of environmental history drawing from a study case which is also an on-going research project, by presenting the intersections generated as of the increasing proximity between Science, Technology, and Society (sts) studies and this "new sign" environmental history. At the same time, through the specific case of the Costa Rican Braulio Carrillo and Corcovado National Parks -icons of pristine and immaculate conservation spaces within an also iconic "Green Republic"- the analysis intends to suggest several ways in which the two large analytical perspectives of environmental history and sts studies may further communicate and complement each other in both conceptual and methodological terms.
