Abstract
- The article provides information on a 150 million U.S. dollar contract awarded by the U.S. Navy to the Lockheed Martin Laser and Sensor Systems segment in Bothell, Washington, to develop a combination laser weapon and electro-optical dazzler to disable optical sensors, called the High Energy Laser with Integrated Optical-Dazzler and Surveillance (HELIOS) system. The project aims to create a laser weapon for the Flight IIA versions of the Burke-class destroyer.
