Abstract

The article discusses literature describing strategies aiming to decrease the rate of dialysis catheter (DC)-related infections. Topics include association between antimicrobial-coated central venous catheters (CVCs) and lower rate of colonisation and catheter-related blood stream infection (CRBSI), the first choice for DC insertion, and importance of dressing application on DCs.
