Abstract

The article discusses the archaeological study of the War of 1858 between the Nlaka'pamux communities belonging to the Fraser Canyon in British Columbia and the miners most of whom were American. Topics include the finding of the archaeological study covering the colonial period in British Columbia, and how the studies provided physical evidence on the Nlaka'pamux people's approach to colonial domination which reflected both their entrepreneurial and fighting spirit.
