Abstract
- The article focuses on the need to change the serological threshold to prevent mass drug administration (MDA) and develop an assessment strategy using accurate diagnostic tools for onchocerciasis, which is suggested by the World Health Organization (WHO). Topics discussed include the use of enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA) and lateral flow-based assay, the importance of the sensitivity of the tools, and sample size. The transmission dynamics of the parasite is emphasized.
