Abstract

The article emphasizes the role of teachers of humanities in formation of intercultural competence of students. Teaching young people intercultural communication skills should contribute to the development of ideas of human possibilities in the modern world and lay the foundation for respectful attitude towards people of different religion, nationality or tradition. The article also analyzes interactive forms of teaching intercultural communication including lectures with presentations, round tables and trainings. A special attention is paid to the importance of motivation, activeness, diverse experience and constructive feedback in the learning process. The professionalism of the teacher shows itself in a student-centered approach during the formation of learning skills as well as in the use of natural learning. The inter-ethnic learning groups are also one of the most important instruments that allow teaching students intercultural communicative competence. Friendly atmosphere of communication in these groups promote tolerance as a social value. The method described in the article provides a therapeutic effect both for students and teachers.
