Abstract

The objective of this research was to analyze whether there is a correlation between educational development, levels of inequality in incomes and variation of Gross Domestic Product (gdp) per capita. The methodology used consisted on the creation of a database with three indicators: Index Development of Education, GINI coefficient and per capita GDP of 38 countries, including Mexico. The period analyzed was from 2008 to 2013. Through a statistical analysis, the results showed that the IDE is correlated with the GINI and the change in GDP, the GINI is inversely correlated with IDE and this in turn with the change in GDP in an inverse manner. Like a wise it was possible to construct a regression model that allowed GINI estimate the impact of the IDE, concluding that improve the rate of educational development generates better income equality and consequently higher growth in per capita GDP.
