This article presents information on journalistic, advertising and public relations practice in the Saint Louis, Missouri area. The recipients of the Edward R. Murrow Awards for Broadcasting have been announced. The awards are organized by the Radio-Television News Directors Association. Television station KTVI won two awards at the 2003 Journalism Excellence Contest, sponsored by the Illinois Associated Press Broadcasters Association. Saint Charles Community College also won national awards for college communications excellence from the National Council on Marketing & Public Relations. Publisher Donald M. Snuggs was honored by Mentor Saint Louis for his contributions to improving public education. Thomas Pallesen was appointed by Adamson Advertising as director of the agency's interactive division.
