CRIMINALITY SPATIAL DYNAMIC IN MANAUS CITY, AM.

Thefts and robberies are common crimes in urban centers. Criminality control is a state responsibility and the complex urban context turns the police tactics into a hard and, frequently, inefficient task. This paper presents a method to identify, characterize and diagnose areas with highest incidence of thefts and robberies. The method has as a goal to increase security perception in citizens and improve police efficiency. The results are presented through density maps, photographic records, field reports and descriptive statistics, producing geo-intelligence results dealing with geographic and temporal dynamics of theft and robbery crimes in three neighborhoods of Manaus city, in Amazonas state, Brazil.
