Abstract

This paper confronts the historicity of Physical Education in Brazil with Law 10.639/03 (requiring the history and the african-Brazilian culture in the curricula of primary and secondary schools), trying to place this educational component of basic education in the diffusion and implementation of that law. The goal is to promote discussions for understanding a culturally plural country and a school historically influenced by projects and ethnocentric. Elsewhere suggests reflect on the importance of combating all forms of discrimination and inequality in school and beyond. Working themes of Body Culture, moving through an ethnic-racial education is suggesting the work, and analyzing didactic- methodological possibilities that may lead the individual to recognize the civilizing value of African culture and african-Brazilian.
