Abstract
- Butadiene–styrene/ethylene–propylene–diene monomer rubber blends were prepared with different blend ratios and modified with styrene–isoprene–styrene (SIS) and styrene–isobutylene–styrene (SiBS) triblock copolymers as compatibilizers. Influence of the triblock copolymers on the blend compatibility was examined utilizing scanning electron microscopy and differential scanning calorimetric analysis. Thermal stability of the prepared rubber blend vulcanizates, with and without incorporation of SIS and SiBS copolymers, was assessed by determining their physico-mechanical properties after exposure to thermal aging accelerated. Furthermore, the swelling behavior of the rubber blend vulcanizates under investigation was evaluated in organic solvent, oil, and in brake fluid. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
