Abstract
- Focuses on the efforts of researchers supported by the Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education Program (SAREP) in developing alternatives to methyl bromide in controlling pests in preplant and postharvest practices. Award given to SAREP to support research projects on alternatives for methyl bromide; Factors that contribute to less replant disease of peaches discovered in a study conducted by researchers from the University of California (UC) in Davis, California; Grape rootstocks with nematode resistance developed by UC-Davis nematologist Howard Ferris and viticulturist Andrew Walker.
