Latent Tuberculosis: Incidence and Overview for Dental Hygienists.

The article offers information on works done by dental hygienists to establish links between oral health and general health and reduction of the latent form of Mycobacterium tuberculosis (TB). Topics discussed include information on increase in the risk of multi-drug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB); early testing of people with risk factors for latent TB provided by the United States Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF); and information on tests required for screening of TB.
