Abstract
- The article presents a case report of a 34-year-old woman who was referred to a hepatology clinic, for evaluation of an increase serum alkaline phosphatase (ALP) level. The patient then underwent physical examination and was diagnosed with primary biliary cholangitis (PBC) due to the presence of an antimitochondrial antibody (AMA) and immunoglobulins. The article also discusses the importance of profound physiologic changes and adaptations in pregnant women.
