Abstract

Anal incontinence is a problem that affects a considerable number of the population. When performing some type of delivery, the woman is more likely to develop this condition, which when treated, has good results. The objective was quantify the prevalence of AI in incontinent women who had vaginal delivery (VD) or cesarean section (CS). A retrospective, descriptive study conducted with 137 records with a diagnosis of Anal Incontinence (AI), treated in private physiotherapy clinic in Rehabilitation of Pelvic Floor in Brasilia. AI was more prevalent in Vaginal Delivery compared to Cesarean Section. The prevalence of AI of dirt type was the most found in both deliveries. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
