This paper intends to improve the innovation and entrepreneurship education in colleges and universities, and to make full use of the engineering practice platform, which can help to stimulate students’ innovative thinking and learning interest, and also can develop their innovative spirit and entrepreneurial ability. It also analyzes the present situation and the problems of the pioneering education in local universities, and analyzes the main effects which the practice platform construction brings to the development of the engineering students ’ innovative and entrepreneurial abilities. Based on Nantong University’ s resource advantages of equipment and teachers, several studies have been explored and put into practice. These measures promote the students’ abilities of innovation and entrepreneurship. The practice has proved that constructing a comprehensive practice platform for engineering students is an effective way to develop their innovative and pioneering abilities.
