History of Concepts and the Historiography of the Independence of Brazil: A Preliminary Diagnosis.

The article examines the historiography of independence in Brazil in the 19th and 20th centuries. Topics include the continuities between the colony and independent Brazil, the value of conceptual history in the historiographic revision process, and the preservation of the monarchical system. Also discussed are the basic lineages of the historiography of independence and the history of concepts in the 21st century.
