Rising up with Christ.

The article reflects the communal vision of the Eastern Church on the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It looks at the visual depictions of resurrection in the Dark Church's Anastasis painting as an event involving humanity and pointing to the contrast between the kingdom of violence of Rome and kingdom of nonviolence in Jesus Christ. It also cites the individual resurrection celebrated by the West and the universal resurrection celebrated by the East.
