Abstract
- The article offers suggestions for growing right maize variety for improving soil conditions. It states that arable growers who live in a dairy-farming area or near an anaerobic digestion plant could improve soil fertility and protect yields of following crops by adding maize to their rotation, and mentions example of farmer Andy Fussell, of Somerset, England, who sold his maize crop as cattle feed to a dairy farmer. It notes putting in buffer strips on sloping fields to prevent run-off.
