Abstract: Information about several papers discussed at the Joint U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-International Xenotransplantation Association (IXA) Symposium held in Baltimore, Maryland on September 20, 2017 is presented. Topics include scientific advances in xenotransplantation, infection and risk-benefit of xenotransplantation, and regulatory considerations of xenotransplantation products. The symposium featured several speakers including David Cooper, Jay Fishman, and Judith Arcidiacono.
