- The article discusses the work of author B. Traven in novel "The Death Ship" in depicting the condition of 19th century Europe. Topics include freedom of movement started in Europe for liberating lower classes; promoting political and economic interests of nation-state over fundamental modern principles of human rights; and concept of citizenship forged in the historical transformation to wage labor.
