Dietrich Bonhoeffer, the St. Nicholas Church, and the 1989 Monday Demonstrations: A Case Study of Theopolitical Engagement in the German Democratic Republic.

An essay which examines how East German Protestants used the thought of Dietrich Bonhoeffer to articulate and implement different church-state models in their sociopolitical context in 1949-1989. Particular focus is given on the Saint Nicholas Church's used of Bonhoeffer's political theology, which rooted in his Christology or his thinking on the person of Jesus Christ, during the October 9, 1989 demonstrations in Leipzig.
