Abstract

This checklist of the terrestrial Oligochaeta of the state of Oregon is based on collection sites from 30 of the 36 counties in the region. In total, 44 species representing 20 genera and four families (Lumbricidae, Megascolecidae, Ocnerodrilidae and Sparganophilidae) are reported from the state. Twenty species are considered native (endemic) to North America, the rest are European, Oriental or Pantropical exotic species. The most frequently collected species are: Aporrectodea trapezoides (24 counties), Dendrodrilus rubidus (19 counties), Ap. turgida (18 counties), Eiseniella tetraedra (16 counties), Lumbricus rubellus (14 counties), L. terrestris (12 counties), Octolasion tyrtaeum (12 counties), Arctiostrotus perrieri (11 counties), Allolobophora chlorotica (10 counties) and L. castaneus (10 counties). The remaining 34 species were collected from fewer than ten counties each, 22 of these from only one county. Individual county sites include the ecoregion and a map location, as well as the species obtained, indicating the frequency and per cent of the total regional collections. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
