Abstract

The article discusses the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling in the 2017 case BNSF Railway Co. (BNSF) v. Tyrrell which deals with American civil procedure rules and a personal jurisdiction doctrine, and it mentions how the U.S. Supreme Court denied Montana's courts general jurisdiction over BNSF which had continuous contacts with the state but was not considered to be at home in Montana. The U.S. Federal Employers’ Liability Act of 1908 and compensation for workplace injuries are assessed.
