Development and characterization of 13 polymorphic microsatellite DNA markers for pink salmon ( Oncorhynchus gorbuscha) using next-generation sequencing approach.

The article presents a study which characterized polymorphic microsatellite DNA markers for pink salmon Oncorhynchus gorbuscha using next-generation sequencing approach. Topics discussed include distribution of the pink salmon, finding on the developed markers with tri- or tetranucleotide repeat motif, and the potential of the developed new loci in the conservation management of pink salmon.
