Abstract

A novel tetranuclear cluster-based polymer {[Cu(L)(NO)(DMF)]·(CHCl)} ( 1, HL = (1Z,2E,N′E)-N′,2-bis(2-hydroxybenzylidene)hydrazinecarbohydrazonic acid) was synthesized through diffusion method. The structure of 1 was characterized by elemental analysis, IR, and single crystal X-ray diffraction. 1 is tetranuclear copper cluster which further constructed 1-D chain through double Cu-O bonds. Luminescent and magnetic properties of 1 have been studied. Hirshfeld surfaces analysis revealed that complex 1 was supported mainly by H···H, O···H and H···Cl intermolecular interactions.
