Abstract
- The author discusses the spelling of the place name in the Anglo-Saxon poem Brunanburh. He mentions variant spellings in the poem which appears in the "Anglo-Saxon chronicle," the possibility that variant spellings referred to different places, and alternate sources which also contain variant spellings.
