Abstract

This article discusses the use of Latin language throughout the Roman Empire. It tackles the growth of Rome's power, other languages being spoken by the people of Rome other than Latin language, the impact of contact between languages on Latin language itself, the source language for loan words and borrowing of words in Latin language.
