Adjectives and Adjective Phrases (A&AP) is the first, preliminary, result of the larger project A Modern Grammar of Dutch. The goal of this project is to provide a grammar of Dutch for the professional linguist that incorporates the results of modern theoretical syntactic research in such a way that it is accessible for linguists of all frameworks and disciplines. This article evaluates A&AP in the light of the above goal. It contains a description of the many things that the theoretical perspective of A&AP adds to the knowledge found in traditional grammars such as the Algemene Nederlandse Spraakkunst (ANS). In addition, it discusses some problems related to the theoretical perspective and makes a number of suggestions to solve these problems. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
