- Reports that British health secretary John Reid has promised further funds to increase palliative care at home if the National Health Service can present evidence on cost effectiveness. Research showing that people prefer to die at home; Paper written by economist David Taylor calling for primary care trusts to audit quality of death as a method of reducing health inequalities; Reference to an online survey conducted by the British Medical Journal that asked people where they would prefer to die.
