The paper provides an updated overview of the state of knowledge about the late and final Roman period (phases C1-C3) and the Migration period (phases D-E) in South Bohemia. There are currently documented 31 sites of various nature which are known to various degrees, the most numerous of them being flatland settlements and isolated finds. The only cemetery dating from this period is the site near Přešťovice. The paper also addresses the region‘s external relations, questions of migrations and longdistance contacts.
