Abstract
- This section offers news briefs from the Oils and Fats Group of the New Zealand Institute of Chemistry as of June 2017. A symposium on 3-monochloropropanediol (3-MCPD) and glycidyle esters is being organized by the German Society of Fat Science. The use of low-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) hemp seed as food was approved by the Australia and New Zealand Ministerial Forum on Food Regulation. Roughanic acid is the formal name of the unusual n-3 fatty acid found in the storage lipids of plants.
