In this paper, the aerodynamic characteristics and control strategy design method of the HTV-2 like vehicle are studied when the lateral control deviation parameter (LCDP) is greater than 0. Considering the characteristics of the HTV-2 space vehicle lateral static stability easy to obtain, the design method of the aerodynamic characteristics and control strategy is proposed by using the lateral/directional channel coupling. The analysis shows that the method can be used to design the aerodynamic characteristics and the control strategy to realize the stability of the system with LCDP greater than 0.
