Reflexões sobre a Invisibilidade do Trabalho das Mulheres Rurais na Cadeia de Valor do Cacau no Brasil.

The overall aim of this paper is to present some reflections on the invisibility of rural women's work in the cocoa value chain, based on bibliographical and documentary research, considering the information published from 2000 to 2015 on the impacts of environmental certification in gender equity relations in cacao farms, in the State of Bahia Brazil. It was concluded that the adoption of business strategies and environmental certifications, although they constitute development strategies targeted to the socioenvironmental development of the actors in the value chain, specially small farmers, tend not to promote equity shares and women's empowerment inside the cocoa value chain in Brazil.
