Abstract
- The editorial considers how language used in public health announcements can be counterproductive in leading to desired outcomes, focusing on campaigns aimed to highlight health disparities in the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other federal and state health departments. Topics include the National Stakeholder Strategy for Achieving Health Equity, mass media and LGBT health messages, and health and activism.
