The Church of the Annunciaton was once the temple of the Casa Profesa of the Company of Jesus in Seville. The emblematic program of the dome (ca. 1756-1767) is composed of a sequence of 16 hieroglyphics, whose objective is an apology for the society of Jesus and his charism. the present first part of the study deals with the chronology and initiates the iconographic analysis of this program based, inter alia, on two essential Jesuit references: Carlo Bovio y Jacobus Boschius.
