The article reports that Vortex Control Technologies (VCT) plans to certify its aft-body drag-reduction devices, called finlets, on the Boeing 737-NG family of airliners. Finlets are expected to reduce fuel burn by an average of 1% after extensive computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis.
